Subject: ECE6330 Assignment #04 Due Friday 2/20/04 From: YangQuan Chen Date: Fri, 06 Feb 2004 15:26:50 -0700 To: JEFFAHEN@cc.usu.edu, RCFENTON@cc.usu.edu, hyosung , bricg@cc.usu.edu, STORMONT@cc.usu.edu, Huifang Dou , Zhongmin Wang Assignment #04 is designed to strengthen the basic adaptive control concepts. Required work 1. Do Matlab/Simulink simulation studies for the UAS (universal adaptive stabilizer - check course web for more information - http://mechatronics.ece.usu.edu/ece6330/) in page 130 of Example 4-10. In addition, try a case when the unknown coefficient $a$ is time varying, e.g., a=a_0 sin(\omega t). Try several different $a_0$ and $\omega$ and summarize your observations. 2. Do Matlab/Simulink simulation studies for the MRAC (model reference adaptive control). (refer to the notes http://mechatronics.ece.usu.edu/ece6330/notes/ECEMAE6330_Linear_Adaptive_Control_notes.pdf 3. In both of the above adaptive controllers, please add some observation noise to see the effect. 4. Summarize the detailed theoretical analysis (stability in the sense of Lyapunov) for the simple first order (relative degree one) case. 5. Attached all your simulation results (figures, simulink blocks etc). All figures must be numbered with a caption and be referenced from the report text.
