Dear Friends,

Professor Shabana has informed that the members of the Multibody Systems and Nonlinear Dynamics

committee have now voted and they are in favor of forming a sub committee on Fractional Dynamics within

the committee.  Therefore, I am pleased to inform you that we now have a subcommittee on Fractional

Dynamics.  I sincerely thank you for participating in the formation of this subcommittee.

I have included Prof. Shimizu in the executive committee.  Prof. Shimizu is also a member of the MSND

Committee.  Thus, the members of the executive committee of the Fractional Dynamics subcommittee are

Agrawal (Chair), Dr. Bohannan, Prof. Machado, Dr. Sabatier, and Prof. Shimizu.

We now have a difficult task ahead.  We now need to show that we are a genuine group of investigators.

In order to maintain our identity, we need to step up our activities.  I hope all of you will make our next

symposium a grand success.

I am planning to undertake few activities to promote our field.  One of the first tasks that I want to undertake

is to develop a website of this subcommittee that one can visit to find various resources in this field.  This

will include Names of investigators in this field (and links to the web pages of this investigators), list of

recent publications in this field (in most cases, it will provide a link), software or other tools available in the

field, and upcoming symposium and workshops in this field.

Success of this field will depend on demonstrating practical applications of fractional derivatives.  I would

like to have this site to be a show case where investigators and industries can post their success in the

field.

I would also like this website to be a vehicle of communications between investigators in this field.  I would

like investigators to post their problems, submit their solutions, and form collaborations.  I would like this

site to act as a data bank that investigators can download for their own modeling and theoretical development.

At least, I would like to provide links to available data bases in the field.

The executive committee members can not do it alone.  We all should help in this task.  I would like all of

you to give me your feedback, suggest if you have some different ideas, and let us know if you would like to

share software, data, and other resources you have in this field.

Please send me an email to indicate that you have received this email.  Thank you for your attention.

With best regards,

Om Prakash Agrawal
