Abstract:
We demonstrate  in this paper that for switched systems the optimal switching 
time instants and the optimal control policy can be solved readily by direct 
search optimization. General problem formulation and numerical procedures are 
presented together with two demonstrative examples previously considered in 
the literature using other numerical solution methods.
